2!

Our little Crazy Avery turned two yesterday.

We started the day off with a little breakfast at IHOP. Then it was off to playgroup, with some fabulous pink cupcakes in tow.

Later that evening we had a lovely, quiet celebration with family.

I can't tell you how many parents have told us to cherish every moment because time just flies by....we are starting to understand why. I know she is only TWO, but we find ourselves asking how that can be already?

Here are just a few of the things she is up to at this stage in her short, but full, life:

*She can count to ten, and can identify most colors
*She loves to sing songs, and her favorite is "Rock-A-Bye Baby"
*She has a very good vocabulary, and talks mostly in short sentences (although sometimes only Mommy, Daddy, and even Alex can understand her)
*She is well on her way to being potty trained
*She loves to dress herself, and often tells us to "go away" so we won't be tempted to help her
*She loves to play dress-up
*She is constantly on the move...doesn't have any real interest in T.V.
*She loves her sister, and clearly wants to be just like her
*She is very much a Daddy's girl
*She is a total ham, and she seriously makes us laugh every day

Happy Birthday sweet little Digga! We love you and can't wait to see what the next two years have in store for you!

oh, go fly a kite

One good thing about living in a city with perpetual windy evenings is having the option to go fly a kite at a moments notice.

Just like Play-Doh, I think kite flying is one of those things you forget how fun it really is until you get out and do it. Brian even equated it to fishing (although kite flying yielded him better results, by his own admission)....when the wind catches the kite, and the string gets that taut sensation, it kind of gets you a little giddy inside.

I wasn't just giddy inside however. Avery's favorite part of kite flying was letting go of the string and watching Daddy chase across the field to retrieve the bobbing spool....had me laughing so hard I forgot to take a picture! But then again, how many pictures do we need of Brian doing something which has us laughing out loud?
