i want s'more

We're all full of surprises these days. Yesterday Brian brought home all the fixins to create s'mores for dessert. So after supper we lit up the chiminea on the back patio for a little faux campfire fun.

Avery was a little intimidated by the flames (of course that didn't stop her little craziness from running by the fire all evening....taking a few years off Mommy's life every time), but Alex was a marshmallow roasting pro...no charcoal, no flames, just pure golden gooey heaven!

And as crazy as Avery is, she didn't quite care for the sticky mess this dessert masterpiece was creating in her hands. That's not to say she doesn't have a sweet tooth to rival the rest of the clan....if we would have let her have her way she would have scammed us out of the entire chocolate bar.

The rest of us sure enjoyed this little gem of a treat however.

Gotta love low budget, good old fashioned family fun!

The A's Clubhouse

We gave the girls quite a big surprise yesterday.

We purchased this beautiful playhouse from our neighbor Van, and moved it into our backyard. Brian and I knew about it for a couple of weeks, but didn't mention anything about it to the A's just in case the deal fell through. Thankfully everything went super smooth. With tons of help from our dear friends (a BIG THANK YOU to all of you) we had the entire playset moved and in place in just a few hours.

The girls were geeked, to say the least. In fact, it was so hard pulling them away from it that nap time turned into storytime and quiet time upstairs,

and supper was eaten on the bottom floor.

Today hasn't been much different. Alex declared her list of things to do as soon as she woke up today, and it went as follows:

1. Eat breakfast
2. Brush teeth
3. Get dressed
4. Do hair
5. Playhouse

It's looking like it might have been a pretty good investment.
