geeks on parade

I love to play Scrabble and do crossword puzzles. I'm a self proclaimed home-body. I enjoy math. Yet, even with all these "quirks", I wouldn't have described myself as a geek....until now.

Yep, that's me on a Segway. Certified Geek-adocious, and proud of it.

A few weeks ago we met our dear friends the Yees for a weekend in the Bay Area. We were looking for something "different" to do and happened upon the Segway tour. Well let me just say it was one of the funnest things I've done in The City in a long time. It was a great way to see the "same ol', same ol'" in a whole new light, as well getting to see some nooks and crannies of San Francisco that I probably would otherwise never see. Not to mention, we got a little free time on the pier to race around and really see what these two-wheeled contraptions could do. Very cool, very fun!

Another one of the cool things about the tour was that if was great for all types of people. Young, old, big, little, it really didn't matter. But you say San Francisco isn't on the agenda anytime soon....don't fret. It's my understanding they have Segway tours in most of the major cities around the world now. So go ahead and throw down the extra cash and join the geek squad. It will be our little secret.
