It's a Bird, It's a Chick, It's a . . . . Coop?

As part of our ongoing movement towards healthier eating we started thinking about the benefits of organic eggs. We talked about getting a couple of chickens. We did some research on them. Then, true to our style, we jumped in with both feet and gave the girls an Easter surprise with three Plymouth Rock hens.

We were told by a friend who has chickens of her own that the chicks had a couple of weeks of "box life" before they needed a coop, so more online research commenced. Finally after staring at about a million pictures construction started.

Yesterday they moved in to their new digs.

Now, we wait. We should start getting eggs by the end of summer!
